Olite Castle – Navarra
Olite’s Royal Palace of the Kings of Navarra is one of the most visited monuments in northern Spain . Its origin dates back to the 13th and 14th centuries as the seat of the Court of the Kingdom of Navarre. A set of outbuildings, moats, rooms and gardens that leaves no one indifferent. It has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and National Monument and was chosen as the first medieval wonder of Spain by the Medieval Magazine in 2008.
Butrón Castle – Vizcaya
If this summer you want to know the Basque Country, be sure to visit Butrón Castle. Although it is not accessible inside, it is worth enjoying the outside of this medieval wonder. The fortress is in the Bavarian style and is located in a very privileged natural environment. The building consists of four towers, the highest of all being the tribute tower. One of the things that is most striking is that in some places the castle walls are more than four meters thick.
Manzanares El Real – Madrid
Inside this castle the bases of the Statute of Autonomy of the Community of Madrid were established . Its origin dates back to the 15th century and summer is the best time to get to know it because theatrical performances, concerts, thematic visits and medieval combats are organized.
