Schlager singer Kerstin Ott struggles with a great fear. In a podcast, she now told why Corona made it even worse.
Munich – The Corona crisis brings fears and worries for many people. Fear of the disease, of infecting someone and of existence – all of this preoccupies people. But other fears also seem to be caused by the pandemic. Schlager singer Kerstin Ott reported in the podcast “But please with Schlager” that she suffered from terrible stage fright after a one and a half year concert break.
Because of Corona, she has not been able to stand on stage for a long time. As a result, she suffers from stage fright just as bad as she did at the beginning of her career.
Schlager star “almost died” from stage fright
When she started playing music, she almost died of stage fright, said Ott. It was only over time that she learned to control it. Unfortunately, after a year and a half break, she has forgotten it again – she’s like at the beginning. “The stage fright really turns me on sometimes, but it also turns me off sometimes,” regretted Ott. “There are moments when I’m really scared that I’ll blackout on stage,” she continues. She also feared that she might forget her texts.

She just hopes that the stage fright will come under control again when she is allowed to be on stage more often. She also struggled with her voice after the long break, says Ott. Her producer even advised her to take singing lessons again. The voice volume was simply no longer there as it was before. After 45 minutes you noticed that she was lacking the power.
Kerstin Ott is currently on tour with “I go my way”. (jv)
