The creation of the callWSTNet(Network of Laboratories of theWeb Science Trust) has been announced during thecongreso WebSci10held in Raleigh, South Carolina (United States), on April 26 and 27.

The research network will organize multiple events, such as seminars, congresses, meetings and summer schools, and will identify opportunities for funding and participation in public events. It will also organize a series of WebSci conferences, the first of which was held in Athens, Greece last year.

“WSTNet will expand our global web science research capabilities and ensure thatbe included in university curricula“said Professor Dame Wendy Hall, managing director of WSTNet and one of the founders of this discipline.

Theten founding laboratoriesof the WSTNet are the University of Southern California (United States), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (United States), the Vrije Universiteit (Netherlands), theDigital Enterprise Research Institute(Ireland), the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany), the Oxford Internet Institute (UK), the Northwestern University (USA), the Tsinghua-Southampton Network Scientific Laboratory in Shenzhen (China), the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (United States) and the University of Southampton (United Kingdom).
