In theory, electric scooters are a practical means of transport, but in practice they often become a traffic obstacle. The city cleaning should eliminate them in a political project.

Hamburg – Since their introduction, e-scooters have been viewed from two different perspectives. The harried employee or tourist is happy about the easy-to-use means of transport, the passer-by is annoyed by the standing and lying scooters.

So that incorrectly parked or fallen e-scooters do not become a traffic obstacle, the city cleaning department in Hamburg is now taking action on behalf of the traffic authority. In a pilot project, two teams, each with two employees, are assigned to secure the scooters and remove them from sidewalks that affect road safety. Bicycles are moved by 5 meters and scooters by up to 20 meters.
24hamburg.de reveals here how the city cleaning department is now supposed to free Hamburg from the traffic obstacle e-scooters.

Wrongly parked or “disposed of” vehicles are documented and must then be removed from the location by the lender. Whether the project will change the situation and contribute to road safety is to be evaluated at the end of the year in order to determine the procedure for 2023.
