Security forces are looking for missing young people in France

A young woman goes jogging in Laval, France and does not return. Did she have an accident? Was she kidnapped? A total of 200 security guards are on the lookout.

Laval – In northwest France, 200 security guards are searching for a missing teenage jogger. Investigations into a possible kidnapping have been launched, said Laval prosecutor Celine Maigné on Tuesday.

The investigations were still going in all directions. In addition to a crime, an accident could also have occurred or the girl could have run away. The 17-year-old has been missing since Monday evening. Her father had alerted the gendarmerie when she hadn’t come home from jogging.

Personal items were found in the search for her. Maigné did not give details with reference to the ongoing investigation. French media had reported that headphones and the missing person’s phone had been discovered with traces of blood.

The 17-year-old went jogging in a wooded area on Monday afternoon. Security forces looked for the girl with dogs, horses, helicopters and a special water relay. The public prosecutor described the wooded and water-streaked terrain as difficult. It covers about 190 hectares.

The officers arrested a man. On Monday evening, while drunk, he was unable to make any clear statements about his whereabouts at the time of the disappearance of the girl, said the prosecutor. dpa
