Berlin – The nationwide seven-day incidence has fallen for the second time in a row. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on Wednesday morning at 442.9.
On Monday a high of 452.4 was reached, on Tuesday the value was slightly below at 452.2. A week ago the value was 404.5 (previous month: 118.0). The health authorities in Germany reported 67,186 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. Exactly one week ago there were 66,884 infections.
Hospitalization rate at 5.73
According to the new information, 446 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were 335 deaths. The RKI has counted 5,903,999 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic. The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not recognized.
The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Tuesday as 5.73 (Monday: with 5.52). The value plays an essential role in assessing the occurrence of the infection. If limit values 3, 6 and 9 are exceeded in the federal states, stricter measures to combat the pandemic can be imposed there.
The RKI stated the number of people recovered on Wednesday at 4,937,600. The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 101,790. dpa
