Shakira, J Balvin, Justin Bieber and Ricky Martin support the National Strike

The country celebrates its seventh day of National Strike and several national and international artists have sent messages of support through their social networks, including Maluma, Diego Torres, Danna Paola, Telebit, Diamante Eléctrico, among others.

This Tuesday, May 4, seven days of mobilizations for the National Strike are completed. In recent days there have been massive protests in several cities of the country.

Although most of the demonstrations have been peaceful, until yesterday there were 19 deaths and more than 800 injured in the framework of the demonstrations. The dissemination on social networks has been massive and reached various corners of the world thanks to the fact that national and international artists decided to use their official Instagram, Facebook and Twitter profiles to show the world what is happening in the country.

Local bands such as Doctor Krápula, Telebit, Diamante Eléctrico, Armenia, among others spoke out through Instagram with different messages of support, as well as artists such as Crudo Means Raw, Mabiland and Adriana Lucía, several of them took to the streets to protest .

The Bogota band Doctor Krápula, headed by the singer Mario Muñoz has published several messages of support through their social networks, promoting different hashtags, such as #Colombiaenalertaroja # Nosestánmatando and #SOSColombia, which have been a trend in the country for more than four days followed.

J Balvin, Shakira, Maluma, Camilo Echeverri, Feid and Juanes also expressed their outrage at the situation of abuse by the Public Force and called on President Iván Duque to speak out and regulate the situation.

Through Twitter, Shakira expressed her outrage at the murder of Santiago Murillo, the 19-year-old who died in Ibagué as a result of police abuse. “It is unacceptable for a mother to lose her only child to brutality,” wrote the artist. “I ask the government of my country to take urgent measures, STOP NOW the violation of human rights and restore the value of human life above any political interest,” he concludes.

In the case of Justin Bieber, the Canadian singer published a photo on his official Instagram profile with the statement “Please pray for the people of Colombia”, a fact that surprised several and was a trend on Twitter.
