Nuremberg – A man died on Monday evening when shots were fired in the southern part of Nuremberg. Another was seriously injured.
Around 8 p.m. there was a violent altercation between several people, a police spokesman said when asked. According to initial findings, several shots were fired and two men were seriously injured. Both were taken to a hospital, where one of the injured later died. The homicide commission has started investigating the background to the incident.
The police in Central Franconia had announced on Twitter in the evening that there was a larger police operation with numerous emergency services in Landgrabenstraße because of an attempted homicide. The area should be avoided, it said. dpa
