The sick singer Matthias Reim had to cancel several concerts. The reason: health problems that, according to the concert organizer, “require long-term treatment”.

Berlin – Schlager singer Matthias Reim (64) canceled several concerts in September and October for health reasons. “Unfortunately, we have to inform you that Matthias Reim’s health has deteriorated in the last few days and he had to undergo intensive medical treatment tonight,” concert organizer Dieter Semmelmann wrote on Instagram late Thursday evening.

“In addition to his vocal cord inflammation, other, more serious problems have arisen that require long-term treatment and will take several weeks.” Among other things, performances in Hamburg, Potsdam and Nuremberg were planned in the next few weeks.

The concert organizer also wrote: “We have to give him a longer break and are confident that he will be fully fit again for the arena concerts in December.” Fans sent the singer well wishes via Instagram.

Reim rose to prominence in the early ’90s with the hit song Damn, I Love You. In April he became a father for the seventh time. The daughter with his wife Christin Stark is called Zoe. The hit star and the singer have been married since 2020, they got married in the middle of the first corona lockdown. dpa
