In an honest interview, Katrin Müller-Hohenstein talks about body ideals and Instagram. She is also asked about Cathy Hummels. And answers in general.
Munich – Katrin Müller-Hohenstein (57) is one of the veterans of German television. The ZDF presenter is known for the “current sports studio” and as a sports commentator. She was one of the first women to assert herself in this area and today she advocates that women should have more confidence, as she explains in an interview with t-online.de.
Katrin Müller-Hohenstein does not google herself
In the course of her notoriety, the 57-year-old was also asked how she would deal with public criticism and nasty comments. After all, influencers complain about it again and again. “First of all, criticism rains down on everyone who sticks his head out somewhere. That’s how it is in the age of social media. But I hardly get anything from it. I’m not the type of person who spends hours hanging out on Instagram or Twitter,” explains the presenter. She wouldn’t google herself either.
Katrin Müller-Hohenstein also commented on influencers: “I have nothing against social media at all. The only problem I have is with how it’s partially used. There are really great Instagram accounts, but there are also those where young women think it is enough to upload a few filtered pictures to start a great career as an influencer. I can’t do anything with that.” Because her thought is: “Young women can do more than that!”
Katrin Müller-Hohenstein has also tried to sing
The ZDF sports presenter is up for some fun. So she took part in “The Masked Singer” in 2021 in a pig costume. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the first episode as a tenth-place finisher. She said: “It was so spectacular. I haven’t wanted to sing since I was little. Now I had to and it was so much fun. I loved being the pig. The invitation to this show was an absolute accolade. I can’t think of any other show or show I’d like to be on right now. More is not possible”.
Katrin Müller-Hohenstein talks about body ideals on Instagram
Specifically, Cathy Hummel’s (34) career is finally asked about, who is an influencer and thus also got moderator jobs. Müller-Hohenstein says: “The problem is: They have a role model function. I’m not telling you anything new. What percentage of young girls are heartbroken because of what they see on Instagram. These body ideals, this obsession with beauty. I’m just really sorry.” – whether Cathy Hummels is meant here?
Most recently, Cathy Hummels made a bold statement on Instagram. But that also received criticism from some followers. There was talk of “double standards” in the comments. Sources used : instagram.com/cathyhummels, dpa, t-online.de, swp.de
