Spotlight: the Amazon Echo Show assistant and the new Osmo Action camera

Hello bionic companions! Today we bring you two devices to analyze.

The first is the Amazon Echo Show , the first smart assistant with a screen on the market that is marketed in Spain. It has rear speakers and HD screen (not Full HD) and a 5 megapixel camera.

It’s a telephone? Is it a television screen? Are you a smart assistant? All the answers to that question are yes.

It is quite easy to configure: you can connect it to the Wifi network and using the Amazon app on your mobile. With the Echo Show you can video-calls with other users who also have one, or through Skype. And although you can use it, for example, to watch movies, the ideal location for this device is the kitchen.

In the coming months it is very possible that Facebook or Google will target this market by offering similar devices. We don’t know if Apple will do the same, given that it already has its Home Pot.

The second product that we are going to show you is a small camera, Osmo Action , which wants to compete with the well-known Go Pro.

The screen is 2.4 inches behind, and 1.5 inches in front. Records in 4K quality and at 60 frames per second . This camera is dust resistant; of course, submersible up to 11 meters, withstands falls from a height of 1.5 meters, has an electronic stabilizer that records in any condition (on a surfboard, in adventure sports …) and is capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 10 degrees below zero.

Its price is also quite interesting: € 379. It has an impressive quality and is customizable through its touch screen.
