A subtype of the Omicron variant has emerged and is already dominating Denmark. This "stealth omicron" is apparently undetectable for PCR tests.
Hamburg – A new variant of the corona virus has emerged again. However, BA.2 is not completely new. Because the variant is a subtype of the currently rapidly expanding Omicron variant. The new type of omicron has already been identified by sequencing in South Africa, Denmark, India and the UK. But it should already be circulating in other countries as well. Experts fear that BA.2 could be even more contagious than the original Omikron BA.1.
