Planet

You were probably taught in school that there are nine planets that make up the Solar System: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Hubble constant

Surely you already know that the universe is constantly expanding, but do you know at what speed?

Big Bang

There are those who think that God created everything we know in seven days in a miraculous way, however, science has explained the origin of the universe through the big bang theory.

Magnetosfera

If we did not have a protective shield around the Earth we would probably be fried for a long time. Luckily the magnetosphere surrounds us.

The 2015 Space Day Photo (1) – Thor's Helmet

Thanks to the images offered by NASA, ESA, JAXA, etc., every day we bring you a spectacular image of the universe. We showed them to you in this photo gallery in 2015

Philae wakes up after 7 months of hibernation

After 7 months of absolute silence, the Philae robot has awakened from its slumber. Thanks to the fact that the comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko on which Philae rests is getting closer and closer to the Sun, it has been able to receive enough energy to recharge its batteries and contact the Earth. ESA's Rosetta probe transmitted the following message: "Incredible news. My 'lander' Philae is awake!"

A cryobot will explore the icy moons of our universe

Her name is Valkyrie (Very deep Autonomous Laser-powered Kilowatt-class Yo-yoing Robotic Ice Explorer). It is a cryobot (robot designed to operate on glacial ice) devised by NASA to tunnel through the ice sheets to penetrate the subterranean seas that are more difficult to access. The cryobot is already in the testing phase on Alaska's Matanuska Glacier. If the project is successful, it will be the first step in sending you to explore the underground oceans of icy moons like Jupiter or Europa or even outside our solar system - someday.

Saturn's outer ring is larger than previously thought

In 2009, a group of planetary science experts discovered a new ring around Saturn, made up, for the most part, of small, dark dust particles, a peculiarity that made it very difficult to detect. However, data obtained by NASA's Spitzer infrared space telescope revealed the presence of this structure, which appeared to extend some 6 million kilometers from the gas giant.
