The AICM changes its director general again and remains under military command

The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) announced the departure of Carlos Morán Moguel as general director of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), who will be replaced by Carlos Ignacio Velázquez Tiscareño, retired aviator pilot vice admiral.

The change is made almost six months after Carlos Morán Moguel assumed command of the capital's airport, after leaving the SICT transport undersecretary. Velázquez Tiscareño's entry was made "by instructions of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador," the SICT reported in a statement.

Velázquez Tiscareño has an academic training under the Heroic Naval Military School, where he graduated as Midshipman, Naval Mechanical Engineer and Geographic Engineer. He also has studies at the Naval Aviation School, graduating as a Fixed Wing Naval Aviator Pilot, and the National Defense University in Washington DC, where he obtained a master's degree in Strategic National Resources.

The new director of the AICM has served as Second Commander and Aircraft Commander in the First Naval Air Squadron of Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo; in the Second Naval Air Squadron of Mexico City; and in the Presidential Transport Air Squadron in the country's capital. In addition, he has been Head of Studies and Flight Instructor at the Naval Aviation School, in Las Bajadas, Veracruz.
