The Billboard Music Awards are preparing for a new edition, which on this occasion will highlight the most important productions and artists of a period between March 21, 2020 and April 3, 2021 . The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 23 and will be broadcast on TNT (in Spanish) and TNT Series (in original language), starting at 7:00 p.m. (COL).
This edition will feature the comments and translations of Ileana Rodriguez, Florencia Coianis and Rafael Sarmiento . A little earlier, at 6.30 p.m. (COL)), the program Punto de Encuentro TNT will carry out a preview with all the details of this party in which millions of Latin American fans will be able to know how the winners are chosen, who are the favorites and what are the trends that are reflected through the nominees. It can be seen on TNT social networks and will be hosted by Anaís Castro, Heisel Mora and Gerudito.

The gala will be hosted by Nick Jonas and will be broadcast from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The artists that are confirmed for the show are AJR, Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, BTS, DJ Khaled ft. HER and Migos, Duran Duran, Glass Animals, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis with Sounds of Blackness ft. Ann Nesby, Karol G, The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots and Doja Cat & SZA.

The Weeknd is the top favorite thanks to his 16 nominations, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top 100 Artist, Top Streaming Song Artist, and Top Song Sales Artist. His album After Hours garnered multiple accolades, including Top Billboard 200 Album and Top R&B Album. In addition, their single Blinding Lights is option in five categories.
Other segments such as the Top Artist award will be contested by Drake, Juice WRLD, Pop Smoke, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. For Top New Artist the nominees are Gabby Barrett, Doja Cat, Jack Harlow, Pop Smoke and Rod Wave. In Top Duo / Group the fight will be between AC / DC, AJR, BTS, Dan + Shay and Maroon 5.
