The company that invented a gadget to clean the hair of dogs and cats

The relationship with pets is becoming closer. But this closeness can cause some health problems in people, especially in their respiratory system, and in this sense, technology can also have a positive impact by allowing connections between humans and pets not to be prolonged.

According to the Dyson Global Dust Study , in Mexico eight out of 10 households have at least one pet. The most common and problematic due to the hair they shed are dogs and cats , which make people who live with allergies or some type of respiratory disease suffer.

And it is that the hair itself is not the only harmful agent for people. According to the investigations of the English company, the dead hair of animals can harbor different types of allergens invisible to the human eye, such as scales, mites, bacteria and even pet dander.

According to the analysis, seven out of 10 owners in the world are not aware that the feces of mites can reside in their pets, which represents a great problem, since these particles are one of the most common factors in respiratory diseases.

Faced with this situation, Dyson launched a tool that complements its series of vacuum cleaners , whose objective is to catch loose hair and remove dead skin cells from the dog or cat to prevent the spread of allergens throughout the home.

According to what Dyson microbiologist Dennis Matthews told Expansión, the company generates the designs based on in-depth research to find common problems that affect people, but in which few people pay attention. “That is why we must think about things that are not seen, such as microorganisms,” he said.

The concern about dust is a matter of genuine interest in the company, where in addition to motivating technological innovation, it seeks to respond to public health issues. “People don’t care about dust and adapt to those conditions, but it’s something that shouldn’t happen,” said Dyson researcher Matt Lee.
