Family fun: “Bibi & Tina: Simply different”
Years ago he brought unforgettable cult works to the cinema such as “Karniggels” or “Knallhart”. But Detlev Buck, as he has long since proven, can also do children’s and youth cinema: his four previous Bibi & Tina adaptations have been quite successful.
Now the director, producer, actor and screenwriter, who was born almost sixty years ago in Bad Segeberg in northern Germany, is launching a new, fifth installment in the franchise. The two riding girls (one horse is called Amadeus, the other is Sabrina) not only have to deal with extraterrestrial rocks in the 102-minute family fun, but also with a small and quite cute alien. And Kurt Krömer is there too.

Culture clash comedy Monsieur Claude is back
Claude and Marie’s four daughters are planning a big surprise party for their parents’ 40th wedding anniversary. They also want the families of their husbands Rachid, David, Chao Ling and Charles to come to the country. The party is to take place at Claude and Marie’s chic estate. But as expected, the whole thing ends in arguments and insults.
Director Philippe de Chauveron is back with “Monsieur Claude and his big party” with the third part of his tabloid comedy about cultural differences and clichés. In addition to the Clash team, the main actors Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby will be there again. The two predecessors “Monsieur Claude and his daughters” (2014) and “Monsieur Claude 2” (2019) each attracted millions of viewers to the cinemas.

“The Father of the Bride”: A classic in a new edition
There is a long tradition of films about fathers who have difficulties letting their own daughter out into the world. It all started in 1950 with the US comedy “Father of the Bride” starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor. The Father of the Bride, 2022, features Andy Garcia as the father, Adria Arjona as the daughter, and Gloria Estefan as the mother.

Daughter Sofia comes home to tell her parents that she wants to get married. But her Cuban-American father Billy doesn’t like it at all. In addition, things are not going well between Billy and his wife Ingrid. Chaos and desperation are programmed. The almost two-hour US production was directed by Mexican-born Gary Alazraki.
