The Rio Roma duet shows the regional Mexican that they carry in their blood

The duo delves into the exploration of the Mexican region, which will be the star of their new album. The first single is “Tú eres mi amor” with Caliber 50.

The Río Roma duet completely delves into the fields of regional Mexican music with an album dedicated to “all parts of Mexico” by the Caliber 50 group, with whom they share their first single, “Tú eres mi amor.” .

Many people don’t know it, but we grew up singing mariachi, singing songs by Marco Antonio Solís, by Vicente Fernández. Like many Mexicans, we carry the regional in our blood and this time we wanted to do something more frontal, we are going to make an album that begins with this song and we will take a tour of our country (with music) ”, José Luis Roma, composer, told EFE and singer of the duet.

The theme celebrates love, like all the songs of the Roma brothers, but maintains the sound of the northern music of Caliber 50, because according to José Luis, one of his intentions was not to make “fusions” but to enter the sound of the Mazatlán cluster, on the Sinaloa coast.

Today more than ever we feel that pop and the Mexican regional is closer than people think, this song was produced by Edén Muñoz, a member of Caliber 50 , and we said: it has to be 100% Caliber 50, we didn’t want something hybrid ”Said the composer.

In that sense, “Tú eres mi amor” will also have the other side of the coin, that is, a pop version “100% Río Roma”, which they will show later, but which will also have the participation of the norteño group, who they had to adapt to Raúl and José Luis in their style.

“It’s even in a different tone, that is, they are two different worlds in the same song,” added José Luis.

The song explores the most romantic side of the classic ballads of the brothers from the state of Hidalgo, central Mexico, and the most danceable and powerful sound of regional music.

“You are not my life, you are my love because life happens and this does not”, is one of the phrases that most excites José Luis and Raúl of this song whose video stars the singer and friend of the duet , Sandra Echeverría.

With “Tú eres mi amor”, José Luis and Raúl Roma start an album dedicated to Mexican music, but above all, it will show the scope that music can have when there is a bond of friendship behind each collaboration.

“We are fortunate to have this possibility and above all to do it with friends, in each of the songs there is a real musical link, that makes us very happy, it is not a genre that we do not know, but the collaborations that we have chosen add a lot to it”, Raúl answers.

Their closeness to regional Mexican music will last approximately a year and then they will return to pop fully , because although it has been the genre that best defines them, they stayed away from it with the celebration of their first 10 years with “Rojo”, an album full of experimentation in musical styles.

However, their album dedicated to the mariachi is still on hold and in the meantime, the brothers promise not to let go of their romantic nature.

“Throughout these years our music has managed to have this characteristic of being romantic. Regardless of the genre, Río Roma will always sing about love, ”said Raúl.
