Cyberdyne, the Japanese company responsible for the famous HAL ( Hybrid Assistive Limb ) exoskeleton together with the University of Tsukuba (Japan) designed to support and expand the physical capacities of the sick or people with physical disabilities, aims to build a real city with robots that It will have multiple robotic assistants who would work in industries as diverse as medical, industrial or agricultural.
The leader of this project, Yoshiyuki Sankai, founder, president and CEO of Cyberdyne, has initially baptized the city as “Cybernic City” and will settle on 84,057 square meters of land in the city of Tsukuba-north of Tokyo-, which the company bought in 2015 for $ 54.68 million.
The innovative area will include nursing homes, a research center, a hospital, a shopping center, a park and, of course, a large number of robots (since they are the central axis of the project) that will help with the tasks of life daily to humans who decide to go live in this futuristic complex.
How much would a house cost in this technological city?
At the moment this data is unknown , but we are sure that it will be a good social experiment of how the interaction between humans and robots would flow in a joint and extended coexistence.
The intention is that this place encourages business cooperation and accelerates the development and introduction of robots in society. The project is already underway and Sankai hopes there will be “visible progress” before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
