They create a retractable lightsaber that cuts through steel like butter

And the lightsaber, in the purest Star Wars style, works perfectly. A team of engineers from the YouTube channel ' The Hacksmith' have built the first lightsaber that, at a temperature of 2000 degrees Celsius, is capable of cutting any metal and, in addition, be completely retractable according to the person who lights it. Change color and cut the metal like butter.

How did they do it?

The sword combines oxygen and propane to generate a plasma flow similar to that of Star Wars lightsabers. The saber is powered by plasma that burns at a temperature of 2200 ° C. Thanks to a special nozzle, the plasma shoots out of the handle in an almost perfect recreation of these mythical lightsabers.

Although it depends on an external power source and not on a small infinite power source within the grip, it is the result of four years of work by these engineers and many will be satisfied with this new advance.

The lightsaber works simply: the plasma, heated to high temperatures and highly concentrated, is turned into a circular beam of glowing plasma that looks like a lightsaber. And it is not only light. This saber is capable of cutting through steel with amazing ease.

And the colors?

By introducing different salts, the flowing plasma glows in a wide range of colors including green (or blue, for Jedi, in Star Wars), orange (Jedi Sentinels), or red (for Sith).
