News from the Winterstein School and its magical animals: Another film is planned for autumn 2024.
Berlin – There will be another movie about the book series “The School of Magical Animals”. Filming for the third part is scheduled to begin in spring/summer 2023, the production company Kordes & Kordes confirmed on Thursday. “The film will be in cinemas in autumn 2024.” The stories tell about the Winterstein School and their magical animals. In addition to several books and radio plays, there are already two films.
At the German Film Awards, the first part was awarded for the visual effects and as the most popular film. It includes Nadja Uhl, Milan Peschel and Justus von Dohnányi. The second part is currently in cinemas. According to distribution, more than a million people have watched it so far.
The film funding agency in Berlin is now supporting the sequel with 600,000 euros in funding. Several new projects are being funded with a total of 3.6 million euros. This includes a new film by director Fatih Akin. In the north of Germany he will soon be filming a piece of contemporary history from the perspective of a ten-year-old boy with “Amrum”. For example, “Heidi – Rescue the Lynx” and “Lassie – A New Adventure” are also supported. dpa
