Windows 11 began its wide rollout on October 5, the first major update in six years. Windows 11 is available via free download for users who already had Windows 10 installed on their devices, but it is not yet available for all Windows-compatible devices. So all the important new features that the update promised are not currently available either.
In favor of Microsoft, it must be clarified that the company already announced that this would happen last August, through a publication on its official website, so no one should be caught by surprise.
It has a design very similar to Mac
Basically, Windows 11 can be said to have a very intuitive and functional software design, but visually not very innovative, since it looks a lot like Mac. Of course, Windows 11 has some new multitasking functions, and the Start menu is also in a different place than where it was in previous versions.
However, it will not include one of the most anticipated updates : support for Android mobile applications in its new application store. Microsoft has also not given a date for the availability of Android applications, other than saying that it would be released in a “preview” test “in the coming months,” according to that post last summer.
Even so, and despite these small setbacks, there is much to expect from the new Windows 11. But even if your device has not yet asked you to update it, you can still verify if it meets the compatibility requirements to download and install said update.
Microsoft assures that the release of the update to implement Windows 11 on devices would be “staggered and measured”, with the new eligible devices receiving the update first and the rest will be offered the free update sometime between November of this year and mid-2022, depending on hardware, device age, and other factors.
When your time comes, you will receive a Windows Update notification that will inform you when Windows 11 is available for your device, or you can also verify it manually by entering the official Microsoft page.
The update will arrive in a staggered and measured way
While you wait for your device to receive the update with the new Microsoft operating system, you can check if your laptop or tablet can automatically update and install Windows 11. You must first download Windows 10 if you don’t have it yet, since the Windows 11 automatic update only works if you already have Windows 10 installed. But even if you don’t have Windows 10 don’t worry, as Microsoft has enabled a way to manually download multiple older versions of its operating system.
You also don’t need to install the Windows 11 update immediately if you don’t want to, as Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 until October 2025, so don’t worry and don’t rush.
