On several occasions we have spoken about the end of life on planet Earth, but we have done it as something very distant, which will happen several thousand and even millions of years from now. However, the draft of the UN Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Climate Change (IPCC), to which the Agence France-Presse (AFP) has had exclusive access, indicates that the apocalypse could happen in the coming decades , specifically in the year 2050.
According to this report, children born in 2021 will see their lives transformed when they are 30 years old. In 2050 life on planet Earth will cease to be as we know it : megafires, extinction of species, bacteria resistant to antibiotics, malnutrition … The future that the experts propose is devastating to say the least.
Recently, the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, in an interview with AFP, spoke about this report and insisted on the importance of everyone seeing “reality head-on.” The climatic situation is extremely serious and we must act now. She is sure that there is nothing more to be done to stop the devastating impacts of global warming on humanity and nature, although we still have time to delay their appearance.
Apocalypse 2050 in Spain
According to ‘Vozpupuli’, the plan for the future Spain 2050 presented by Pedro Sánchez foresees an apocalyptic scenario: “The Spain of 2050 will be warmer and more arid. There will be more droughts, more fires, more heat waves, more torrential rains and greater transmission of diseases through food, water or animals; all of which could reduce the well-being of our citizens ” .
According to current calculations, the increase in temperatures will mean the death of 20,000 people a year in Spain alone . In addition, the change in climatic conditions will greatly facilitate the proliferation of diseases transmitted through mosquitoes and food such as dengue or Zika, among others.
Rising temperatures and the absence of rainfall will have devastating consequences for nature , with megafires and dust storms becoming more frequent.
In addition, according to the Spain 2050 Plan , within a few decades the number of bacteria resistant to antibiotics will skyrocket. And there is still more: the number of people suffering from mental disorders will increase and many will fall into drug abuse.
