Trooping the Color: Queen Elizabeth II shines at the birthday parade

Although this year's Trooping the Color Parade was much smaller than usual due to the corona pandemic, Queen Elizabeth II was still in a good mood.

Windsor – The UK traditionally celebrates the head of state's birthday with a grand military parade held on the second weekend in June. Due to the current Corona restrictions, the Trooping the Color Parade ran a little differently this year.

Instead of the Horse Guards Parade in London, the soldiers of the Household Division gathered at Windsor Castle to celebrate the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II (95). The Queen had appeared in the morning accompanied by her cousin Prince Edward, Duke of Kent (85).

In a light gray coat with a matching hat and white gloves, the regent watched the soldiers march into a tent that had been set up for them at Windsor Castle. Visibly delighted and radiant, Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed the streamlined Trooping the Color Parade * from there. The highlight of the event was the appearance of the Red Arrows. The Royal Air Force aerobatic team painted the sky over Windsor in the British national colors and put a big smile on the face of the birthday child. * 24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
