The Pokémon fever continues. Nintendo has announced the first Pokémon for Nintendo Switch . This is Pokémon Let’s Go, an improved Pokémon Go, where the augmented reality of our environment that appeared on mobile phones, has been transformed into the Kanto region, the largest island in Japan and the classic starting point of the first trainers of this adventure that harvests millions of players around the world.
The game, which has been entirely created for your Switch console and which will be connected to the Pokémon GO mobile application , will be a ‘revision’ of Pokémon Yellow (which turns 20 in September 2018) and is scheduled to launch on 16 November 2018.
Developed by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Game Freak and Niantic , this is a remake of ‘ Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition’, originally released for GameBoy in Japan in 1998 ; yes, with a new character design, which will embody the new image that this successful franchise will have from now on.
How will Pokémon Let’s Go work?
The game is focused on enjoying capturing pokémon, having to point the Poké Ball and wait with crossed fingers to get hold of them all. The Poké Ball Plus, in this case, has been another of the accessories presented. This device will connect to the Switch and will help us capture our Pokémon. In principle, its price would be $ 49, at least in Japan.
Another interesting feature of Pokémon Let’s Go is that it will be the first in the main Pokémon franchise that allows you to play in local multiplayer mode (which will make it easier to catch). The only caveat is that the characteristic battles with wild Pokémon will disappear and, for the moment, the online mode has been discarded.
In addition, it has been announced that the new game will have two versions, Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee (two of the creatures of the original game that we can customize both with costumes and accessories as an added novelty) and, yes, it will touch wait another year to play the next installment of the main saga (which now adds the eighth generation) to succeed Pokémon Sun and Moon.
The long-awaited game, which will go on sale together with the aforementioned Pokéball Plus on November 16, 2018 , will include the 151 original Pokémon, some from Alola and it is possible that new ones will arrive. Reservations have begun to arrive in droves.
Finally, the company has announced a free downloadable game for smartphones with in-app purchases, in the style of ‘Super Mario Run’, called Pokémon Quest and that will also be available on Nintendo Switch.
