US President Joe Biden visits Jimmy Carter: a picture like a doll's house

US President Joe Biden visits his old friend Ex-President Jimmy Carter. However, the photo of the visit has become bizarre.

Plains – Actually, US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden only wanted to visit ex-President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn Carter last Thursday. Carter was Democratic president from 1977 to 1981 and is the oldest living president at 96 years old, while his wife Rosalynn is 93. That didn’t stop Carter from advocating his beliefs well into old age. Most recently, he was involved in a campaign for vaccination against the coronavirus.

The result of the visit was a picture that almost looks like a doll’s house. Little Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter are sitting on large armchairs in their apartment, with pictures hanging on the wall behind them. Joe Biden and his wife Jill seem almost like giants next to the Carters. Certainly, the age-related shrinkage will have made a difference and the size of the armchairs also contributes to this optical effect, which makes the Bidens so big and the Carters so small.

Bidens visits the Carters: With the wide-angle lens, Joe Biden becomes a giant in the doll’s house

However, something else could also be decisive: the angle at which the photo was taken and the photographer’s lens. For example, Twitter user DemSwag writes: “My guess is that the room was very small, so the photographer had to use a wide-angle lens to get everyone on the picture.”

The selection was correct, but a wide-angle lens distorts the edges. Specifically, this means that people on the edge, like Joe Biden and his wife Jill in this photo, appear larger. Meanwhile, Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn appear significantly smaller. This is usually easy to fix with a machining program, in which case it appears to have been neglected. The result is the giant Bidens and dwarfish Carters.

Twitter users: Inside are amused by photo of Joe Biden, Jill Biden and the Carters.

The comments from Twitter users from the USA are accordingly humorous. “Presidents shrink twice as fast in old age as normal people do,” writes one user. Others exchange ideas about the apartment of Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter that can be seen. “Nice people. Honest, caring and moral. No gilded statues or columns necessary, ”another person alludes to Joe Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump. He was known for his fondness for gold, so much so that the Guggenheim Museum offered to lend him a gold toilet.

Other comments on the photo of Joe Biden, Jill Biden and the Carters are less friendly: “No masks!” Commented a Republican supporter. To be corrected at the same time that this is not necessary, since both the Bidens and the Carters are vaccinated. Above all, however, it is praised, as one post puts it in a nutshell: “Wonderful photo of real American patriots.” (As)
