Richard David Precht’s statements about the corona pandemic and especially about vaccination sparked discussions. Now Karl Lauterbach also interferes.
Frankfurt / Berlin – The philosopher Richard David Precht commented on Corona * and vaccination in a podcast that he published together with Markus Lanz. There was criticism, not least on Twitter. Now another figure joins the critics: SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach *.
Corona in Germany: Philosopher Precht provokes with vaccination statements
But what was the “Lanz & Precht” podcast about? In short, both opposed the corona measures and the call of many for tougher measures for unvaccinated people. For example, the philosopher equated those who oppose vaccination and those in favor of vaccination from politics and science when he said: “There are people who hear the word vaccine and immediately think: ‘This is the devil.’ And there are people who hear the word vaccinate and immediately say: ‘Everything is safe.’ Yes, and both poles are total nonsense. “
Precht also spoke out against vaccinating children. Finally, the philosopher also emphasized: “We cannot assess the side effects of a vaccination any more than the danger or the effects of the coronavirus” and described vaccination as “genetic engineering”. All of this created massive headwinds in the network.
Karl Lauterbach was asked about the Precht case in the “Top Talk” political talk by Spiegel. The topic is Precht’s sentence that the side effects of the corona vaccination cannot be assessed any more than those of an infection. Lauterbach reacted decisively.
Karl Lauterbach is “disappointed” with Precht’s Corona statements
“Well, I appreciate him very much and we know each other well. So I was completely surprised. […] The position is absurd, just like one or the other thing he also said in the podcast, ”said Lauterbach. The moderator followed up and also brought Precht’s view of vaccinating children to the table. The SPD health expert replied: “There were a lot of things that are just so wrong that I was surprised. I did not expect that”. He added that Richard David Precht was a thinker who had settled in, which is why his statements “very surprised and disappointed” him.
When asked by the moderator whether Lauterbach thought he could convince Precht, the latter reacted skeptically and replied in consternation: “I don’t know what I could achieve.” But the talk wasn’t just about the philosopher. Lauterbach also spoke out in favor of “2G as the royal road” and called for stricter measures. (slo) * hna.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
