Five people were killed in a serious traffic accident on the B253. The police are investigating, initially a lot was still unclear.
Homberg – On the federal road 253 near Fritzlar in northern Hesse, five people died in a head-on collision between two cars on Sunday evening (December 5th). A VW Golf occupied by four men between the ages of 27 and 57 collided with an oncoming car at the end of an upgraded route in a right-hand bend, as the police in Homberg announced on Monday night. A 42-year-old woman was behind the wheel of the Lancia. Both vehicles hurled into the ditch.
The four men in the VW and the Lanica driver were fatally injured in the crash. All five people killed had to be rescued from the two wrecked cars by the fire brigade. The main road was largely cordoned off in the area of the accident site until 1.30 a.m. on Monday morning.

The cause of the accident is initially unclear. In their press release, however, the police point out that a “speed limit of 70 km / h” applies in the area of the accident site. By order of the public prosecutor’s office in Kassel, an expert was called in to determine the cause of the accident. (afp / ml)
