It is the name given to the vegetarian who eats exclusively fruits, berries and nuts. The strict fruitarian does not admit any culinary preparation, not even cooking, of the fruit he takes. Although it is true that fruits allow to obtain a large part of the basic nutrients by combining oleaginous fruits (olives, walnuts, almonds …) with sugary fruits (grapes, kiwis …) , as well as other more protein, this type of diet it is unbalanced and can be detrimental to health.
Regarding the debate on our frugivorous origins, although some anthropologists in the 1980s suggested that Australopithecus fed only on fruits, the truth is that more recent dental analyzes have shown that our ancestors also ate foods of animal origin and that, for therefore, they were omnivores.
