Spain lived in 2005, and still suffers it, the worst drought in the last 60 years, a natural phenomenon that is part of the planet's climate systems and represents a transitory anomaly with less than usual rainfall. The last similar situation occurred between 1990 and 1995. In this period, even the rains from October to May were higher than those registered in 2005. However, not all of the five-year period was so dry and for two years the rainfall was normal. Towards 1995 a season of bonanza arrived.
Meteorologists consider that the drought situation in our country occurs more or less every 10 years , although the phenomenon is random and is not related to climate change.
The UN estimates that drought is one of the causes of poverty in the world , which leads 135 million people to emigrate. In Africa, rainfall has dropped so much that 38 million people are at risk from hunger caused by lack of water. In Asia, the problem is suffered by 60 million people.
