What is the highest mountain in the solar system?

The highest mountain in the Solar System is located on the planet Mars. It is known as Mount Olympus and is 24 kilometers high, far surpassing Mount Everest, which is the highest mountain on planet Earth. It is also the widest, as it is 550 kilometers wide. It is located in the western hemisphere of the neighboring red planet.

But Mount Olympus is not only a mountain, it is also a volcano. The volcano is flanked by large cliffs that can reach up to 6 km in height. The caldera is 85 km long, 60 km wide and between 2.4 and 2.8 km deep, not inconsiderable figures. Its colossal size is probably due to the fact that Mars has no plate tectonics.
