It is called Solo per Due (Solo for two), and its name says it all : only two diners at noon and another two at night have the opportunity to try the cuisine prepared by chef Remo Di Claudio , owner of the premises together with his son Giovanni. It is located in Vacone, a town of 267 inhabitants in the Lazio region, 68 km from Rome. It is housed in a 19th-century villa that houses rich mosaics and a garden with palm trees from all over the world. In summer you can enjoy a glass of wine while overlooking the valley lined with olive trees and vineyards (in winter, the aperitif is served around the fireplace).
The place attracts above all couples in love, who dine as they please –the waiter only goes to the call of the bell–, by candlelight and wrapped in the music that they choose when making the reservation –like the menu– . Of course, it costs € 250 per head , not including champagne, some wines and other extras, and they do not accept credit cards. The waiting list to reserve is also epic: as of today, until 2016 there is no date available .
