It is a rare case of aging of the middle of the body from sun exposure. This strange pathology is giving rise to talk after the New England Journal of Medicine published the case of a 69-year-old man who in the last two decades has seen the left half of his face wrinkle and age much faster than the right half. The medical analysis showed that he suffered from thickening of the skin, in addition to a pathology known as elastosis (yellowish coloration with small yellow nodules).
He also suffered from clogging of the skin pores and perspiration retention. The experts concluded that the strange pathology was due to the fact that the patient had been driving a truck for 28 years and the chronic exposure to ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB) through the window glass had progressively damaged the part that it received sunlight daily. The image of his face is a shocking example of how photoaging affects us if we do not use sun protection , experts recall.
