If you have mistakenly deleted some photos from WhatsApp and want to recover them, you are in the right place. Many users suffer from this type of situation. Accidentally deleting photos is a very common thing and it happens to a lot of people. You shouldn’t feel bad about it. The problem would arise when it is impossible to recover them. So how do we get them back?
The WhatsApp developers provided a backup file function long ago, but you should know that photos are not always recovered with this method. Next step?
It is not so difficult. Recovering a lost image can be even easier than we think. First of all, we can verify if the person (or people) with whom we have shared said photo have a copy of it. In that case, we would only have to ask for it to be forwarded to us. In the same way, if you uploaded an image to a WhatsApp group and then deleted it, it is also likely that someone will keep it and can forward it to you.
In the event that we have not shared the photos with anyone or they do not keep them either. To do?
The easiest way to recover lost photos is through a backup. Both the Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp support backups (to Google Drive and iCloud respectively). If it hasn’t been long since you lost your images, you can restore your latest backup . It would be the fastest and most efficient option. Of course, this requires that you have enabled the backup function before deleting the image (s).
If you have a backup between the time you sent the picture messages and their deletion, you can easily go back to the backup section and restore the latest backup from the WhatsApp app.
To do this, first, you will have to navigate to the Settings section of the WhatsApp application and open the Chats tab; look for the option Chat Backup and click on it. You’ll see information that includes details about the last backup and how often the backup is scheduled. If you deleted the photo after the last backup, continue this process and uninstall the application and reinstall WhatsApp; During the setup process, choose the option to restore the backup from Google Drive or iCloud depending on your operating system.
You can continue with the uninstall process as usual and then reinstall a fresh copy of the latest version from the App Store or Google Play Store and confirm your mobile phone number again. Then you should see a message to restore the data from a backup. Accept this option and then WhatsApp will restore all the messages that were stored on our phone during the backup or backup time .
While this option is fairly straightforward and works well for most users, it is important to note that you may lose all the messages exchanged since the last backup was made.
It is also possible to recover photos through third-party applications. For Android, we can use apps like DigDeep, which is free and allows us, as soon as we open it, to see the photos that we have been erasing. To recover them we just have to press each one.
If we have an iPhone, we will need the Jihosoft iTunes Backup Extract r and the iPhone connected to the PC. This software allows us to recover the WhatsApp history in full or by dates, as we require.
