On July 20, Jeff Bezos , former CEO of Amazon, will fulfill one of his big dreams: travel into space. He will do so with three other people aboard the New Shepard spacecraft, designed and built by his own company, ‘Blue Origin’. Those who will accompany Jeff Bezos on his adventure will be his brother, Mark Bezzos, the winner of the auction (who has paid $ 28 million for the ticket) and Wally Funk, an 82-year-old pilot.
But who is Mark Bezzos ? Let’s get to know a little more about it. Jeff is four years older than Mark. Jackly Gise, their mother, had Jeff when she was 17 years old, and Ted Jorgensen, the mogul’s biological father, abandoned them shortly after. Later Jackly met Miguel Bezos, a Cuban who came to Miami when he was just a child in the 1960s. Miguel adopted Jeff and the family moved to Houston, where Christina and Mark were born.
Mark finished his high school studies at an American school in Norway and then studied Advertising and Public Relations at ‘Christian University’. He worked for the agency ‘DDB’ for a time and then decided to set up his own marketing agency, ‘Bezos Nathanson’, in New York. In 2006 he sold it and is currently the director of the ‘Benzos Family Foundation’, a foundation created by his parents to improve the quality of life of those children who need it.

In recent years, Jeff Bezos’ brother has also been in charge of managing the communication of ‘Blue Origin’ . Although he does not have the fortune of his brother, he is the second richest man in the world according to ‘Forbes’ magazine. It is estimated that it has around 60 million euros.
In regards to his private life, Mark Benzos is married to Lisa Rogers. She is today one of the directors of the ‘Benzos Family Foundation’. The two met in New York shortly after finishing high school. They have four children .
This Tuesday, July 20, 2021, the brothers, accompanied by two other crew members, will set sail for space. This week the spacecraft received the approval of the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States , the last remaining process to be able to transport passengers to space.
