Anthropologists coincide in affirming that the vulgarly called "pen" of some homosexuals, that is, the exaggerated gestures that imitate women, have no biological and less genetic basis, as the North American anthropologist Marvin Harris assures us. It is a cultural behavior that is acquired by observation and imitation and that, in many cases, allows the person to consolidate belonging to a certain group , in this case the gay. In fact, many homosexuals have no need for effeminate gestures and voices, and are apparently indistinguishable from heterosexuals.
Homosexuality is one more sexual option that is not related to any physical trait – tone of voice, gestures, physical constitution, way of walking – or psychological – being more or less shy, sensitive, creative -, or social role – doing or not housework, preferring a certain sport or playing a certain profession.
