Xiaomi will repair their mobile phones at home in quarantine

Xiaomi has become one of the best-selling smartphone brands in Spain. One out of every four smartphones that are marketed in our country are from the Chinese firm.

According to data from the consulting firm Canalys, in the last quarter of last year, the Asian company achieved a market share of 23% in our country , which would leave it just one point behind the leader in the business, Samsung.

Aware of the great penetration that it has in our territory and how difficult the situation is due to the coronavirus, Xiaomi has announced the launch of a smartphone repair service at home for Spanish consumers.

“The company provides this after-sales service, aware of the importance that mobile devices play when it comes to staying in contact with family members and loved ones in the current context of the state of alarm decreed in Spain,” they explain in a press release.

Brand customers who have purchased devices “purchased in authorized channels” may request the ‘door-to-door’ repair service. They can do so by contacting the Customer Service telephone number 902 220 250 . The telephone service hours would be from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

After providing your address, a courier service will pick up your smartphone for free, as long as it is under warranty . The terminals are taken to a service center with which the brand works in Spain. Once fixed, the phone will be returned to the same address.

In addition, Xiaomi has announced that it will offer an additional three-month warranty period for those brand products whose warranty expires between March 15 and April 15.

Another of the main smartphone manufacturers, Apple, also announced a few days ago, its policy for these confinement situations in which it keeps its Apple Stores closed.

Xiaomi has also donated masks

It is not the only measure that Xiaomi has taken in recent days. The Chinese company has also donated thousands of FFP3 masks to the Ministry of Health to deal with the spread of the virus.

Shou Zi Chew, CFO and international president of Xiaomi , said in a statement: “At Xiaomi we are aware that without the support of the Spanish, our solid presence in this market would not be possible. For this reason, with this symbolic gesture, we want to show our gratitude, while offering our support and solidarity to Spain. Our sense of belonging to this country is what calls us, at times like this, to contribute our help like any other local company . “

“The Spanish welcomed us immediately with passion and warmth, and for us it is a pride to be able to offer our contribution in favor of the Ministry of Health of the Spanish Government, which is carrying out, with commitment and determination, an excellent job for the benefit of the whole community “, adds the person in charge.

Apart from delivering the masks to Spain , the manufacturer has also made a donation to France and South Korea, after having done so at the time with Italy. They say they are working to make donations to other territories affected by the pandemic, such as Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Ukraine and Poland.
