The 19-year-old musician Einár, whose real name was Nils Kurt Erik Einar Grönberg, was shot dead at night in a residential area in Hammarby Sjöstad in the south of Stockholm. The newspaper “Expressen”, the broadcaster SVT and several other Swedish media reported unanimously on Friday.
However, the Stockholm police refused to confirm the victim’s name when asked. In a communication that night, she only spoke of one man who had succumbed to his injuries. A murder investigation has started – but no one has yet been arrested. Sweden has had problems with gang crime for a long time, which repeatedly shows up in shootings.
Einár is hardly known in Germany. In his Swedish homeland, however, he is a name that has gained notoriety well beyond the hip-hop scene. He had his breakthrough in 2019 with the song “Katten i trakten” (The cat in the area).
