A young woman stole several million euros from a money transport in Bremen. The police are looking for her. She is on the run.
Bremen – You proceeded very inconspicuously: The 28-year-old Yasemin Gündogan is said to have stolen several million euros in cash in mid-May. Then she disappeared. The lack of money was only noticed days later. The police are now looking for them at great expense.
How could that happen? The young woman was an employee of a “money and valuables transport company,” as the Bremen police report. In the company, she was responsible for packing money ordered by customers and having them delivered by security transport. On May 21, before the weekend of Pentecost, she stole several security bags filled with money in a roll container in the Walle district of Bremen, according to police. Then she called in sick.
Woman steals several million euros in cash: your company only notices days later
“The shortfall was only discovered and reported a few days later,” says the police report. According to information from the Weser-Kurier, the cash amount is said to be eight million euros.
According to previous police investigations, the roll container with the money, it had the number 06414, was loaded into a black Mercedes-Benz, model Vito, with the registration number HB-DW 143. The license plates were previously stolen, also on May 21, between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Bremen, Wolfskuhlenweg area.
Bremen police are looking for a cash thief: she had an accomplice
The car itself was rented on May 19 in Berlin-Spandau and returned to the rental company’s yard on the weekend of Pentecost. The Bremen police have now been able to identify an “assistant”, she writes. At the request of the public prosecutor’s office, the district court issued a pre-trial detention order against the woman.
The 28-year-old Yasemin Gündogan is currently still on the run. The public prosecutor and the police ask the population for assistance and ask:
- Who can provide information on Yasemin Gündogan’s current whereabouts?
- Who can provide information about the woman’s possible accomplices and their whereabouts?
- Who has any clues as to the whereabouts of the money?
- Who can provide information about the crime vehicle, the roll container and the stolen license plates?
