5 of the best RV parks in Baja California

America is filled with countless wonders dotted across the landscape for RVers to enjoy, but for some, that may not be enough. For the more adventurous RVers, you may want to take a trip south of the border to the United Mexican States aka Mexico and we want to support you along the way.

This Mexican state is for those who like the idea of leaving the United States of A for a while, but don’t feel like venturing too far. Look at a map and you will be able to instantly recognize the tip away from California known as Baja California and that is our first destination. We are going to see the five best RV parks, land and sites for Baja California.

Estero Beach Hotel and Resort: Ensenada

This family-friendly Mexican Resort has been hosting families to enjoy the beauty of the area since the 1950s so they know the importance of hospitality, and that gets hit by their RV park. The RV park contains 38 large RV sites equipped with the three main utilities (electricity, water and sewer) and sit on level concrete pads. Estero Beach Hotel and Resort is covered in manicured and vibrant landscaping and offers a great view of the Bay to give you a great view even on your doorstep. Clean toilets and showers are provided for you to clean up after your day’s adventures.

Other park features and amenities include a pool with a hot tub, playground, recreation center, laundry facilities and you can rest easy knowing the park is staffed 24/7 with details of safety.

Because the RV park is part of the larger complex, you’ll be able to take advantage of nearby fun and activities, including an indoor / outdoor bar, a Mexican culture museum, great on-site restaurants, and more. You can kayak in the bay, ride a jet ski, relax on the beach, and even try Flyboarding, which is essentially moving around on water-powered jetpacks. Venture out of the resort to enjoy other great adventures, such as horseback riding, zip-lining, hiking, and much more. Be sure to visit the “blowhole” of La Bufadora and also swim with whale sharks in Bahía de Los Ángeles.

RV Park Fishing Club: San Felipe

The beautiful fishing town of San Felipe is also home to the large Club de Pesca RV park and they are waiting for you to book your stay. You have a few different sites to choose from, all on the beach. If you like the comforts of your creature, you can connect to a site that offers full services with your option of 20, 30 or 50 amps of electric or if you just want to enjoy the scenery, you can get a dry camp site for less money. Other amenities at the Fishing Club include restrooms, showers, a general store, wireless Internet access, and 24-hour security.

Club de Pesca is also within walking distance of charming downtown San Felipe. If you are a big fan of nightlife, be sure to visit Rockadille where you can dance the night away. If a laid-back beach-oriented adventure is closer to you, we recommend South Beach. Anglers can try their luck with the local fish in the area, but most people seem content to enjoy the beautiful views of San Felipe. Try to arrive around May for the International Chili Cook-Off.

Rancho Sordo Mudo: Guadalupe

If you want a great place to stay and a way to give back to a local community, Rancho Sordo Mudo is probably your best option. This is not like other RV parks on our list, as Rancho Sordo Mudo is predominantly a charity school for deaf children in Baja California. The proceeds from your trailer park go directly to helping the school. The amenities of Rancho Sordo Mudo won’t blow your mind, but the RV park has full utility hookups, as well as showers and restrooms. The sites are leveled and surrounded by olive and palm trees to give the entire park a picturesque and relaxed atmosphere.

The local area around Guadalupe is all about one thing, wine. The region is full of vineyards and is a paradise for wine lovers. Try touring local wineries like Trevista and Monte Xanic or any of the dozens of other wineries. If you feel like giving back more, you can actually volunteer at Rancho Sordo Mundo so you can go to sleep with great pride in your day job.

Daggett’s Beach Camping & Resort Fishing: Bahía de los Ángeles

Many people travel to Baja Mexico for legendary sport fishing. If sport fishing is your thing, then Daggett’s Beach Camping and Resort Fishing is for you. Daggett’s is primarily a hotel, but they do have some RV camping spots right on the Sea of Cortez. Campsites and RVs do not come with utility hookups, so it will be a dry camp, but “dry camp at its best,” according to one reviewer. While there are no utility hookups, there are clean toilets and showers, as well as a dump station for your needs.

The main mode of fun at Daggett’s is sport fishing, but the local area has more to offer, including whale watching, old churches, restaurants, local entertainment, and some pretty intense off-road racing tracks. Try to get there the first week of February for one of the biggest races, the Bahia 200.

Old Mill RV Park: San Quintin

The Old Mill RV Park has been around since the early 1800s and has since gone over the changes leading up to the grand hotel and a separate RV park that it is today. Old Mill RV Park has a total of 20 spaces right on the water. Most sites have the big three in utility hookups, but dry camping options are also available. Other amenities at Old Mill include bathrooms and hot showers, but don’t expect much more and why should you? The view over the water has many characteristics.

San Quintin is a popular sport fishing destination and that is what seems to bring a lot of tourists to San Quintin. You can find sport fishing companies to join less than a mile away from Old Mill RV Park. Hang out with the locals and other fishermen at Gato’s Baja Hangout or enjoy local fishing at the nearby Old Mill Villa de Pescadores. It’s all about food, fishing, and fun at Old Mill RV Park.

Baja California is a great way to start your Mexican motorhome adventure. Make sure to do your homework before heading to Mexico so you can enjoy your stay.
