A coach has an accident on the motorway. 19 people are injured. The cause is still unclear and there are contradicting information about the travel destination.
Schönwald – After the serious coach accident on Autobahn 13 southeast of Berlin with 19 injured, the cause of the accident is still unclear.
Police spokesman Ralph Meier of the German press agency said on Saturday that the accident at Schönwald in Brandenburg was being investigated together with experts from Dekra. According to Dekra, it is now clear that the bus rolled over once before it came to rest on the side.
The police had previously assumed that the coach had driven onto an incipient crash barrier in the area of the Krausnicker Berge Ost car park and then overturned.
International passengers were among the 19 injured – including 9 seriously injured. The inmates between the ages of 21 and 64 come from Sweden, Serbia and Israel, according to the information. German-Turkish passengers were also there.
The information about the destination continued to differ: According to the police, the bus was on its way from Belgrade via Berlin to Stockholm. Further travelers should then be accepted in Berlin. According to the bus company Rhein Main Express, which, according to its own statements, was “only a carrier”, the journey should end in the German capital.
As the Dahme-Spreewald district announced on Friday, six seriously injured inmates were among those affected. The police spokesman was initially unable to say how the injured are doing on Saturday. In the accident, there were a total of 17 passengers from the bus company based in Budenheim in Rhineland-Palatinate and 2 drivers in the bus, which has 34 seats.
According to the information, the police tried to identify the relatives. They could also call 03375 2700 and receive information or directly from the Dahme-Spreewald police station. dpa
