After a nurse in Lower Saxony is said to have exchanged corona vaccine with saline solution, she is said to have forged her vaccination certificate.
Jever – A vaccination scandal in the Friesland district in Lower Saxony made headlines. An employee of the vaccination center is said to have exchanged Biontech’s Corona * vaccinations for a saline solution as early as April. This is said to affect almost 9,000 people.
“It is about a total of 8,557 people who may have received no vaccination protection in whole or in part, although they assume so,” said Friesland District Administrator Sven Ambrosy (SPD) at a press conference on Tuesday (August 10th, 2021) in Jever. But that’s not all. Now the 40-year-old nurse is said to have forged her vaccination certificate. That reports NDR-Lower Saxony.

Corona in Lower Saxony: the accused’s lawyer rejects allegations
Accordingly, in addition to the alleged manipulation of corona vaccinations, the woman is also accused of forging documents. The Oldenburg public prosecutor will comment on this on Thursday (August 12, 2021). According to the current state of the investigation, the authorities assume a politically motivated act. Her lawyer denied that the alleged perpetrator should be an opponent of vaccinations. It is part of freedom of expression to spread critical comments on the Internet.
“Our client did not act out of political motivation, nor did she merely administer saline solution to those who wanted to be vaccinated,” said the accused’s lawyer. According to the lawyer, the 40-year-old should only have tried to compensate for spilled corona vaccine with residues from other ampoules.
Corona vaccination scandal in Lower Saxony: those affected should be vaccinated again
The Lower Saxony district has now called for those affected to be vaccinated again. Around 3,600 people have so far made an appointment for a vaccination. “The citizens react very prudently,” said a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health on Wednesday (11.08.2021) in Hanover.
It mainly affects people over the age of 70 who were vaccinated between March 5th and April 20th in the Friesland vaccination center. But employees of care services, educators and doctors could also be affected.
How many syringes were actually manipulated is uncertain. “It may be that only every third syringe was manipulated, it may be that there are no further cases,” explained the head of the Lower Saxony corona crisis team, Heiger Scholz. Initially, the authorities had only assumed six cases. The criminal investigations are currently only ongoing in the six original cases.
With regard to vaccinations, scandals keep cropping up in Germany. When the vaccine was still in short supply at the beginning of the year, two clinic managers in Hessen are said to have used corona vaccine for themselves without paying attention to the sequence of vaccinations.
