The Coca-Cola soft drink brand is perhaps one of the best-known companies in the world . There is no place on the planet where the company’s star soft drink, cola, has not arrived, which also keeps a secret that very few in the world know.
The Coca-Cola formula is one of the most sought after secrets of the 20th century when the company began its global activity. This past Thursday there was a change in the company’s strategy when it comes to saving its formula, and guarding it so that no one knows what it is made of.
Since 1925
In 1925, the company managers kept the secret formula of their most famous soft drink and deposited it in a box. That box became part of the treasures of the SunTrust Bank of Atlanta (Georgia) and no one has had access to it, except those responsible for the custody belonging to the company.
Last week, the company made an important decision. After 86 years in storage, the box containing the Coca-Cola formula will leave its place of custody and will be moved to the “El Mundo Coca-Cola” museum , also located in the city of Atlanta.
The box will now form part of the exhibition “The safe of the secret formula” and visitors to the museum can now see the container that holds the world’s most sought-after formula.
But it has a bit of a trick. The container shown, the original that has been in the bank, is empty. The document that keeps the formula will continue to be kept under lock and key, for fear that the museum could be exposed to theft.
A special day
In 1919, Ernest Woodruff acquired the company together with a group of investors. The secret formula was kept in a box and deposited with Guaranty Bank in New York for six years. He then moved to Atlanta, and has remained there until now.
“This is a special day in the history of Coca-Cola and the perfect culmination to this year’s celebration of our 125th anniversary,” explained Muhtar Kent, CEO of the company in the United States.
There have been many speculations that have been made about the content of this formula, and it is known that its components have varied on several occasions from the original recipe that was created in the 19th century. For now, nobody knows that the formula will come to light, despite numerous efforts and leaks that have occurred in recent years.
