The acts stretched out over many years: A daycare supervisor is said to have repeatedly committed sexual acts on girls. The process is now running in Hanover.
Hanover – A former after-school care worker has had to answer to the Hanover regional court for 120 sexual offenses since Wednesday. From the beginning of 2004 to the end of 2020, the 41-year-old is said to have repeatedly committed sexual acts on girls who were entrusted to him.
The prosecution’s allegation is sexual abuse of wards and children. The slender, youthful-looking man was handcuffed into the courtroom. He has been in custody since the beginning of May.
A girl is said to have been assaulted at least twice between 2004 and 2008. The elementary school student had math tutoring in the man’s apartment in Hanover. He is also said to have abused another young visitor there.
According to the prosecution, the most frequent crime scene was the after-school care center in Hanover, where the German worked for many years. The indictment names five other injured girls, some of whom are said to have suffered sexual violence for years in the care facility for elementary school children – for example when reading aloud regularly in the relaxation room.
On the first day of the trial, the presiding judge, Stefan Lücke, advised the defendant to make a confession that would mitigate the penalty. Some of the co-plaintiffs were afraid to appear in court, he said. “There will be an admission from my client in order to be able to spare witnesses the testimony,” said the lawyer of the 41-year-old, Michael Tusch. The defendant wants to speak on the next day of the trial (November 10th). dpa
