A 5-year-old girl and her father playfully recreate iconic scenes from famous movies

The last year has been complicated and difficult for everyone, but despite the negative news, it has also brought a positive side to those of us who have children, as we were able to spend more time with them.

However, being at home every day with children can become monotonous, and as a result many parents have gotten creative, starting fun projects with their children.

One of them is a father and his five-year-old daughter, who during the pandemic started a very special project: recreating iconic scenes from famous movies , obtaining very funny results.

Alex Zane is a prosecutor and father of two children: Matilda, age five, is his eldest daughter and Holden, age one, is the baby of the house. He and his wife, like many other parents, had to stay home due to the pandemic.

Trying to find a way to organize that worked well for everyone, Alex and his wife divided childcare: she worked in the mornings and he worked in the afternoons. However, and as many of us know, it was necessary to find activities to help keep them sane during confinement .

And right there, is when the Instagram account @tot_for_tot_remakes was born, which hosts the fun father-daughter project, where together they recreate the most iconic scenes from dozens of famous films . Little Matilda is, of course, the protagonist.

The idea came about almost by accident. In one of his attempts to entertain his children, Alex allowed them to play with a toy car in the shower, where they pretended to have a car wash. When they weren’t so interested in playing that anymore, the car was in the living room:

” One day Matilda got on and tried to surf. Something clicked and I was reminded of the iconic scene from the ’80s masterpiece’ Teen Wolf ‘and I asked Matilda if I could play air guitar, ” she explains. Alex for Parents.

After some editing work, Alex posted the ‘Teen Wolf’ inspired photo on his Facebook account and after receiving great feedback, decided to start a project with Matilda: recreate more scenes from classic and famous movies .

Since then, Matilda and her father have published the results of their project, which in addition to being fun is very nice to watch, and according to Alex, she enjoys imitating the scenes and knowing the history of the characters she recreates .

To date, they have recreated more than 80 scenes , among which are some very recognized and memorable from films such as ‘La historia interminable’ (The endless story in Latin America), ‘Jurassic Park’, ‘ET, the extraterrestrial’, ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘Star Wars’ and ‘A very legal blonde’ (‘Legally Blonde’ in Latin America).

Her account @tot_for_tot_remakes, which already has more than 31,500 followers, of course could not fail to include a scene that many surely expected: Matilda recreating ‘Matilda’:

We live surrounded by technology and it is inevitable that this will be incorporated as one more tool in parenting. In addition to apps that help with things ranging from designing your baby's room to managing the calendar of children with separated parents, devices such as tablets, mobile phones or smart speakers are here to stay. Proof of this is the growing use of Alexa as a timer that children obey without question (or at least without protesting as much as their mother).
