We all know that one of the things we least have when a baby comes home is rest. Between his many nocturnal awakenings and the care that we must devote to him, having a decent night’s sleep is simply and simply a very distant wish.
That is why many have identified with the viral images of a pair of recent parents, who fell fast asleep during their baby’s newborn photoshoot .
Sarah Jankowski is the owner of the Simply Joyful Moments photo studio in Georgia, USA, where she primarily works in family portraiture, capturing pregnancy, baby, family and wedding photos. His work is beautiful, but a while ago another aspect of it went viral: behind the scenes of a photoshoot of a newborn .
Cindhi and Ross Davis came to Sarah’s studio for the first studio photographs of their baby Theodore. With the help of her assistant Amanda, Sarah got down to work and accommodated the little one for the first pictures, while his parents sat on a sofa where they could watch the session take place.
But when Sarah began to set up little Theo for the second set of photographs, both parents began to fall asleep, until they were curled up on the couch . Amanda was the one who realized this and without making a sound, she told Sarah to turn to see them.
Seeing them, Sarah could not help but laugh, because although there have been times when the father falls asleep a bit during these sessions, it had never happened that both did. So taking a little pause, they took some images to later show them .
In an interview with CafeMom, Sarah explains that she always tells parents that they can rest and relax while she works with the babies , but undoubtedly the environment of the study (and of course, the fatigue) made this time both fall asleep:
” I keep my study nice and warm for the babies, there is dim light and white noise, so it is a very quiet and relaxing space ,” says Sarah. ” I began to accommodate the baby for the next series of photos and poses, when my assistant directed me to turn back. I did so and saw the sweetest image: this pair of exhausted parents, hugging each other, completely asleep. ” .
Forty-five minutes later, Cindhi and Ross woke up from their nap, but from what Sarah says, neither of them realized when they fell asleep and apparently they didn’t even know they had (sure as many of us, we think it was just a blink when we actually fell down.)
Both parents were very amused by the images, and they gave Sarah permission to share the anecdote on her Facebook page, where they went viral because in addition to mentioning that it seemed like a very tender scene , many parents felt identified with that fatigue caused for the lost hours of sleep.
