Covid certificate. Where can they ask you?

Eleven are the autonomous communities that for now request the covid certificate to enter restaurants, discos and hospitals . It is a pressure measure that seeks to increase the vaccination rate, as well as to control the access of vaccinated people to leisure and social places where there are more possibilities of contagion.

Galicia was the first autonomy to propose requesting the covid certificate to enter hospitality establishments. Andalusia has recently obtained authorization to request it in hospitals and social health centers and asks to extend the measure to the hotel industry and nightlife. Cantabria has also received the go-ahead. At the moment, Madrid, Castilla León, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, La Rioja and Asturias are not requiring the covid passport to access the aforementioned establishments. This last community, although it has not requested its use, does not rule out doing so. Therefore, in Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Aragon, Navarra, the Basque Country, Murcia, the Valencian Community, Catalonia, Cantabria, the Canary Islands and Andalusia, they may require a covid passport.

The Ministry of Health, which in the summer was against this measure, now leaves the decision to require or not the covid passport in this sixth wave of coronavirus in the hands of the autonomous communities, based on a judicial resolution of the Supreme Court. The resolution stated that requiring the COVID certificate would be justified in certain specific territorial areas, in a limited space, taking into account the epidemiological situation.

Not taking an equal measure for all means that in some communities they may require the certificate and in others they will not ask for it, and even that those that do require it, do so for different establishments. In this sense, in Valencia it is being required to access hotel, restaurant and leisure establishments with a capacity of more than 50 people and to attend music festivals, events and celebrations with more than 500. They also demand it if you are going to visit patients and inmates who are in the hospital or in a residence. In Murcia, for its part, the covid passport is required only to enter nightlife venues that want to reach 100% of their capacity and in Catalonia, as well as to enter restaurants, nightlife establishments and nursing homes, is asking to go to the gym.

How to request the covid certificate

The covid certificate in Spain is issued by the different autonomous communities. It can be ordered online through the health portal corresponding to each community and official apps . There are cases in which it can also be obtained in person at certain health centers.

Finally, it can also be obtained at the Electronic Headquarters of the Ministry of Health as long as a digital certificate or permanent double-factor Cl @ ve is available.
