Heart surgery in a toddler: parents only want "unvaccinated blood"

In Bologna, a case attracts a lot of attention. The parents of a toddler prevent an urgent operation because he could get blood from vaccinated people.

Bologna – A two-year-old boy needs urgent heart surgery. For the time being, the intervention is prevented by the parents of all people: They only want to get blood from corona-unvaccinated people for their son. This case in Bologna caused a stir throughout Italy and even ended up in a court in Modena. On Tuesday (February 8th, 2022), this ruled in favor of the clinic: Parents are not permitted to request “unvaccinated blood” for their son.

Parents want blood from corona unvaccinated: case in court

The parents were not convinced by the explanations given by the center for blood transfusions in Bologna. At first they tried to assert their concerns independently by locating unvaccinated donors themselves in the meantime and submitting a list to the clinic. Because no agreement was reached between the hospital and the parents, the matter ended up in court.

A judge determined that the blood provided by the Bologna hospital is perfectly safe. This was reported by the Ansa news agency, citing the family lawyer. The objection of the parents was therefore not accepted. They justified their concern about the corona vaccine with religious motives. (Monja Stolz/dpa)
