Choppy weekend with showers and thunderstorms

It remains comparatively cool in Germany for the merry month of May. The weekend also brings rain in many places – occasionally also thunderstorms.

Offenbach (dpa) – Tief Lothar will ensure changeable and for May quite cool weather in Germany in the next few days. On Saturday it will be mostly cloudy with only short lightening, as the German Weather Service (DWD) reports.

People in the west and south-west have to be prepared for heavy rain and individual thunderstorms in the morning. By evening the rain shifts towards the south. Even in the north there can be widespread showers and thunderstorms during the day. The maximum values are between 13 and 19 degrees.

According to the forecast, it may continue to rain in some areas on the night of Sunday. But the thunderstorms are easing. The lows are between nine and three degrees. It is also rather uncomfortable on Sunday. The meteorologists expect showers and short thunderstorms with maximum values between 13 and 18 degrees.
