Movies that turn 30 in 2021

The 93rd Oscar Awards gala was held last Sunday morning in Los Angeles. It was a different gala due to the pandemic, and of course, nostalgia invaded most of the Hollywood professionals who saw the ceremony. And it is that nostalgia today takes us to recover five films that turn 30 in 2021. Some of these films are already classics from the 90s, and more than one has gone down in history as great films in the history of cinema. Of Fear – Martin Scorsese Away from the usual films that director Martin Scorsese had shown by 1991, ‘Cape Fear’ became a cult film over the years, with a great Robert de Niro, playing a psychopath who harasses to his lawyer’s family for considering him the culprit of having been locked up for fourteen years. The actor’s performance, the soundtrack, and some of the most memorable phrases of the decade – who has not ever said that “lawyer?” ! »? – ‘Cape of Fear’ far surpassed the original released in 1962 as’ Cape of Terror ‘. The Silence of the Lambs – Jonathan Demme Few films of the 90s have stood the test of time as well as’ The silence of the c orderos’ by Jonathan Demme. Based on the novel by Thomas Harris, psychological horror cinema changed forever with the appearance of Hannibal Lecter on screen. With only 25 actual minutes of Anthony Hopkins on screen, the truth is that his character is so powerful, that he is omnipresent throughout the plot. It earned him his first Oscar. The second he got this Sunday for ‘The Father’.The Last Boy Scout – Tony Scott The underrated Tony Scott, has in his filmography some of the most interesting action films of the 90s – ‘Red Tide’, ‘Fanatic’, ‘Love at point blank range’. With ‘The Last Boy Scout’ he got Bruce Willis to establish himself as one of the most valued actors of the new action cinema that began to occur at the time: adrenaline, hooligan insults and several action sequences that are kept very alive in each viewing .Delicatessen – Jean-Pierre Jeunet Finally, we cannot stop talking about a film as delicious as Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s ‘Delicatessen’, a play written in a delirious way with strange characters that became a cult film of the 90s. A French black comedy that is far from going out of style, despite turning 30 in 2021.
